世紀の大イベント「金環日食」は東京ではあいにくの曇り空でした。雲の薄いところに差し掛かると太陽の形が見え、厚いところだとまったく見えないという状況でした。見えたり見えなかったしていましたが、金環状態になった区間に雲が薄い場面があったのでなんとか輝く輪っかを見ることができました。写真にも収めてみました。ちゃんとした減光フィルタは持っていないので簡易日食フィルタを使ったら赤く滲んだ画像になっていました。雲をフィルタ代わりにそのままとったらそれなりに写っています。
原画像から太陽の部分をトリミングしてみました。くっきりとリングが見えていますね。曇っていたからこそ撮れた画像かもしれません。
25年前には沖縄まで金環日食を見に行きました。その時は快晴でとてもよく太陽が見えました。金環状態を最初から終わりまでずっと眺めていることができました。皆既日食ではないので真っ暗にはならないものの、食が最大になった時にちょっとだけ薄暗くなり肌寒く感じたのを覚えています。今回は曇り空だったので、明るさの変化もほとんど感じることはなかったですね。
